Thanks to generous support from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) will present a Not-So-Scary Halloween celebration on Monday, October 31, 2022, from 10 am to 1 pm designed for toddlers and their caregivers. The event is part of a calendar of family-friendly events and a new 21+ After Dark series intended to provide a broad range of programming and access to the Museum & Theatre.
This fall, Visiting Artist Brittany Burke will guide visitors through the process of molding and painting hexagonal wax sheets to create a sculpture inspired by the essential role that bees play in our environment. Each piece will be added to the sculpture in order to create a collaborative work of art, just as bees collaborate to create their hive.

Target training involves training the turtles to tap their nose on a cherry ball. Once completed, Marley clicks a clicker and administers a treat. Marley used their experience with operant conditioning and dog training to help them understand how to approach this
project.
Dozens of children, families, and literary fans were delighted by a unique appearance by award-winning children’s book author and illustrator Oge Mora at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) Thursday, September 18. The author’s appearance was in coordination with the Portland-based Illustration Institute.
