The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) presents the world premiere production of Snow in the Jungle / Nieve en la jungla in Maddy’s Theatre October 8 through November 13, 2022. Snow in the Jungle / Nieve en la jungla is based on the children’s book by Ariane Hofmann-Maniyar and adapted for the stage by Maine playwright Nicole McNulty.

Read MoreThis summer, our intern Marley worked on target training our eastern box turtles (and Museum & Theatre ambassadors), Marie and Arnie. Target training involves training the turtles to tap their nose on a cherry ball. Once completed, Marley clicks a clicker and administers a treat. Marley used their experience with operant conditioning and dog training to help them understand how to approach this
project.
Dozens of children, families, and literary fans were delighted by a unique appearance by award-winning children’s book author and illustrator Oge Mora at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) Thursday, September 18. The author’s appearance was in coordination with the Portland-based Illustration Institute.
