Dixon reflects on the process of bringing this story to life on the Maddy’s Theatre stage as both a wonderfully silly predicament with some wonderfully silly dragons, and as an open invitation of acceptance to children and families of all identities.

The illustrated pages are mounted along the indoor route that families take to enter the Maine Watershed Aquarium; there visitors can also see a beaver specimen from the Museum & Theatre’s collection on display and learn about its habitat and lifeways.
Read MoreAs the second in the Visiting Artist Series at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, Roberta March will facilitate a communal art project. Visitors to the Makerspace will be invited to use markers and art supplies to create designs, patterns and pictures on individual wood pieces. These decorated pieces will be added to a communal, large-scale wooden butterfly mosaic. The butterfly was chosen for this project because it is a species endangered and impacted by climate change, and a symbol of hope and change.
