The Music for Many Project: Kesho Wazo

Wazo Daveed is an artist, musician, and youth advocate. Daveed has worked with fashion, music and visual arts and created a youth art collective called Kesho Wazo.  Kesho Wazo translates to “Tomorrow’s Ideas” in Swahili and the focus of the collective is youth art and creating a platform for young people by advancing youth ideas through artistic expressions, individuality, and cultural experiences. This evening, Daveed with bring three artists to share their music with Museum & Theatre visitors. Although his career as an artist is just getting started, Daveed opened for music legend and co-founder of the Fugees, Wyclef Jean, this past summer at Aura in Portland, Maine.

Ukulele Class for 5-8 Year Olds ($75)

Dive into the world of ukuleles during this four week class. Learn basic strumming, chord patterns, and a variety of simple songs as we explore creating music together. Each participant will create a songbook to take home. Participants will need a ukulele for the duration of the class. Please email Lily at lily@kitetails.org with instrument questions.

Ukulele Class for 5-9 Year Olds (R$)

Jump into the world of ukuleles! Learn basic rhythm patterns with help from shakers and bells. Then tune up and start strumming the ukulele as we learn basic chords to strum along to the classic songs. Participants will need a ukulele for the duration of the class.
