Welcome to the world of science and animals! Become a scientist with us as we explore the Children’s Museum & Theatre’s aquarium. During this afterschool, drop-off workshop series, we will be learning about watershed habitats and the animals who call it home. Trained staff will support scientific inquiry, data collection and foster environmental stewardship among participants. Designed for ages 6-8.

$300 for a five-week session. Members receive a 10% discount. 

This drop-off workshop series meets weekly on Wednesdays for 5 weeks.

• Duration: 11/2 to 12/7 (no class 11/23)

Take a deep dive into the Children’s Museum and Theatre’s Aquarium exhibit and go on unique field trips to the nearby Fore River Trail. In this drop off program for 8-10 year olds, we will explore ecosystems, plants, and animals that are native to the land and waters that we call Maine.

Every Tuesday after school for 14 weeks get an up-close look at a new animal and discover how they move, what they eat, and where they live. Be a scientist - travel from the mountain lakes, through rushing rivers and calm ponds, out to tidepools and the open ocean - and observe how the habitats are all connected. Trained staff will support scientific inquiry, data collection, and foster environmental stewardship among participants.

The Watershed Deep Dive workshop will run from March 1st to June 7th. Please note there will not be a session on April 19, 2022.

Payment for the Makerspace Moves program is accepted on a sliding scale of $0 to $250 per participant.
