MAINE NEEDS DONATION DRIVE

Help make the winter season warmer and brighter for local families. The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) will host a donation drive benefitting Maine Needs, a grassroots organization powered by a growing collective of volunteers.

Maine Needs helps individuals and families in Maine by providing donated clothing, hygiene products, household items, and other necessities.

They partner with schools, caseworkers, nurses, and nonprofits to provide these material resources throughout the state of Maine.

CMTM's donation drive will collect diapers, wipes, pajamas, lego kits, and art supplies.

Please see the list of items below for details.

During open hours, donations can be left in the atrium near the Welcome Desk.

LIST

  • Diapers (opened and partial packages are ok)

  • Baby wipes (new and unopened only)

  • Warm pajamas (ages newborn-teen, new and gently-used, clean)

It’s not just a day off, MLK Day is a day to take action. Join the Children’s Museum & Theatre in honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service by providing special art kits and new socks, undies and diapers for Maine Needs families. We take action to honor Martin Luther King Jr. as a Civil Rights leader and champion of those experiencing poverty. No gift is too small to make a difference in our community.

Donations will be collected in the donation boxes located in the Museum & Theatre lobby during all January play sessions.
